Interpersonal Skills & Communication – (In Person)

This PALS module gives the participant an understanding of the part that interpersonal skills play in communication and in forming and maintaining relationships and friendships. Some of the areas covered include: saying thank you, how to disagree politely and without an argument, apologising when we feel it’s required and being heard and feeling included in conversations. A primary focus of this in-person group is to encourage the participants to generalise the skills they are learning with others and to develop an understanding of interpersonal skills in building positive relationships with others. These modules are aimed at children between the ages between 10-14 years old with  with good receptive language skills.

This PALS module is delivered in-person at the Shine Centre and starts on Thursday 06th March, 2025 from 4pm -5pm.

Module 1:  06/03/2025 – 4pm

1. Being right and also being included.
2. Correcting others or letting things go.

Module 2:  13/03/2025 – 4pm

1. Looking at apologies.
2. When is an apology needed?
3. How to say sorry if required..

Module 3:   20/03/25 – 4pm

1. Saying thank you.
2. When is saying thank you needed?
3. How to thank another person properly.

Module 4:  27/03/25 – 4pm

1. Laughing with someone rather than laughing at someone.
2. How do we tell the difference?
3. How should we respond?

Module 5:  03/04/25/25 – 4pm

1. Being tactful – what does that mean?
2. How honest is too honest?
3. When is the right time to be honest and not hurt others feelings?

Module 6: 10/04/25 – 4pm

1. Disagreements with friends.
2. How can we disagree without arguing?
3. Expressing our opinion without hurting the feelings of others. ?
