Conversation Skills 2:
Please note that the participants in this module must have completed the Conversation Skills 1 module before undertaking this course.
This PALS module follows on from the Conversation Skills 1 modules and continues to build on the foundational elements of starting, maintaining and ending a conversation. It identifies the key building blocks of a conversation and their importance of individual social development. This 5 module programme starts with the importance of staying on topic.
Each module takes approximately 45 minutes and is delivered via zoom. These modules are aimed at children between the ages between 10-13 years old with good receptive language skills.

Module 1: (Week 1) – 22/10/24 at 3.30pm
- Why is it so important to stay on topic?
- How do we make sure that we stay on topic?
Module 2: (Week 2) – 05/11/24 at 3.30pm
- Why is our voice so important in conversation?
- How do we make sure that we are using our voice correctly in conversation?
Module 3: (Week 3) – 12/11/24 at 3.30pm
- How to disagree (nicely).
Module 4: (Week 4) – 19/11/24 at 3.30pm
- Honesty.
- What are White Lies ?
Module 5: (Week 5)- 26/11/24 at 3.30pm
- Interrupting.
- How is interrupting different from commenting?
How it works:
This programme is delivered online. A weekly zoom link will be sent in advance and we would ask that the participants would log into the programme a few minutes in advance of the start. A quiet space without noise and other distractions is also conducive to getting the most from the programme.
Who will deliver this course?
The course will be delivered by Grace Crowley. Grace has over 10 years experience working with autistic children and has been a presenter on the PALS programme since 2018. Grace was also a key contributor in the development of the online version of the PALS programme.
